Style Profiles - New Matrices

Prev Next

Style Profiles allow you to visually customise any Matrix (Preview) views (applicable for Bookings, Services, Activities, Events, and Rentals) using colour-based rules. These styles help users quickly identify bookings based on conditions like source, status, or any other available field on the related card.

Creating and applying styles is a really easy two-step process:

  1. Matrix Event Styles (these are your colour definitions)

  2. Matrix Style Profiles (this is where you set the rules that apply those colours)

Step 1: Create Matrix Event Styles (Colour Definitions)

Matrix Event Styles define the colours that can be used in your matrix views. These are reusable colour variants that you later apply through style profiles.

1. Open Matrix Event Styles

  • Use search to find Matrix Event Styles Preview.

2. Add a New Event Style

  • Select ‘+ New’ from the ribbon.

  • This opens the Matrix Event Style Card.

3. Complete the Event Style Details

Each event style includes the following key fields:

  • Code
A short identifier for the style, eg. BLUEBODY

This code is how the style will be referenced when later used in creating style profiles.

  • Description
A more detailed explanation of what the style is used for (optional but recommended).

4. Choose Colours

You can configure up to three colour elements:

  • Bar colour (top bar of the tile)

  • Body colour (main tile background)

  • Text colour

Notes:

  • You can set all three, or only the ones you want to change.

  • Any colour left blank will not be overridden.

  • Use the colour picker to select your colours.

A live preview appears in the fact box, showing how the style will look in practice.

5. Save and Repeat as Needed

  • You can create as many event styles as required.

  • Additional styles can be added later at any time.

Step 2: Create a Matrix Style Profile (Rules and Conditions)

Style profiles control where your event styles can be applied.

1. Open the Relevant Matrix Style Profile Area

Search for the style profile and select the matrix type that you want to create one for:

  • Booking Matrix Style Profiles (Preview)

  • Service Matrix Style Profiles (Preview)

  • Activity Matrix Style Profiles (Preview)

  • Events Matrix Style Profiles (Preview)

  • Rentals Matrix Style Profiles (Preview)

2. Add a New Style Profile

  • Select New from the ribbon.

  • Enter a Code to identify the profile.
    Examples:

    • OTA

    • Balance

    • Overdue

This code is what users will later select in the matrix view.

3. Define Conditions (Filters)

Under the Styles section, you can add conditions that determine when a style is applied.

Key points:

  • Available fields include any standard field from the related source card (i.e. Booking Card)

  • Conditions are built using filters and values (for example, booking agent code)

4. Assign an Event Style

For each condition:

  • Select an Event Style Code (created in Step 1).

  • A preview will appear to confirm how this will look.

5. Understand Condition Order

  • Conditions are applied in sequence.

  • The first matching condition is used.

  • You can set your sequence order on the profile under ‘Sort Order’.

If multiple rules could apply:

  • Be deliberate about the order.

  • Consider combining conditions (for example: Direct and Not Overdue).

  • You can create multiple rules to handle different scenarios.

Step 3: Apply the Style Profile to a Matrix

Once your style profile is set up, applying it is straightforward.

1. Open the Relevant Matrix View

  • For example, open the Booking Matrix

2. Apply the Style Profile

  • Open the Filters panel.

  • Under Display, find Style Profile Code.

  • Select the profile code you created.

3. Confirm

  • Close the filters panel.

  • The style profile is immediately applied to the matrix.

Your matrix tiles will now display the defined colours based on your rules.
